Altered embroidery hoop card

Hi there

Today, I am so happy and excite to be guest designing for Scrapping4fun challenge #137 and it is anything goes. I wanted to make a card which had something different. I used an old embroidery hoop I had which measures 5 x 5 inches. I used stamps from My favourite things - BB Polynesian Paradise

The embroidery hoop after being decorated can be used as a fridge magnet (add a strong big magnet on the back of the paper base) or the card base can be kept circle (just half an inch larger than the hoop) or a card using top fold or side note card. If you have any such old items in your stash you can change them into a card or any craft piece.

Materials used:
1. My favourite things - BB Polynesian Paradise
2. White note card
3. Pattern paper (matching the theme)
4. Embroidery hoop (smaller the better)
5. Colour pencils
6. Gem stones
7. Tacky glue & double sided adhesive
8. Distress ink (to ink the card base)
9. Glossy accents (only for the eyes)
10. Gold liquid pearls (to small flowers)

1. I took an old embroidery hoop and traced it on a pattern paper. I cut out the pattern paper according to the size. This is to cover on side of the hoop.
2. I stamped, coloured and fuzzy cut all the images. I has made lots of the images as I didn't have an idea how I was going to arrange them.
3. The magic starts now........
I first pasted the pattern paper to the hoop using tacky glue. Any strong adhesive works here.
4. I started adding the images accordingly and I kept the rest of unused images to make another card.
5. I added some gem stone on the inside of the hoop where I added the sentiment.
6. I added the hoop to a top fold note card using double sided adhesive.
7. I felt the card base was empty and it required something. So I distress inked the edges and added some flowers to finish the card.

Stamping and colouring on embellishments

Hi there,

I am back with another inspirtion card post for Craftyscrappers using Magnificent Champaka and I have used wooden embellishments to stamp and colour the flowers. For the staming part, I used versafine black onyx ink and coloured used pencils.

Materials used:
1. Craftyscrappers stamp - Magnificent Champaka
2. Wooden embellishment
3. Embossing folder
4. Distress ink - Pumice stone
5. Versafine blck onyx ink
6. Polychromos pencils
7. Pattern paper
8. Glossy accents
9. Gem stone
10. White cardstock

1. I stamped the flower image from the set on a wooden embellishment. Here, I used circle shape but any shape will work here. Use versafine black only ink since its dark and stamps perfectly on the piece.
Before using an embellishment thing to note is to first select the right stamp and wooden piece. Before stamping, place the stamp on top of the wooden piece and see if they fit the size. Whether it is too big or small and then go ahead with stamping once the right size has been choosen.
2. I used polychromos pencils. They are professional pencils and the colours get applied dark and easy to blend.
3. I added glossy accents to the flowers and let it dry. I added a gem stone to the center of the flower.
4. I embossed a white note card and added pumice stone distress ink only to the raised part of the embossing.
5. I added gem stones to the embossed card and added the fuzzy cut sentiment. Added this note card piece to a pattern paper and that to a top fold note card.
6. To finish this card, I added the wooden piece to the corner.

Shadow box

Hello there,

I am so excites to share another post today. I have made a card for Craftyscrappers inspiration theme ' Floral'. I have made a mini shadow box today. Its a very easy peasy project. I used Sending Sunshine to add to the shadow box. This can also be used as a photo frame or add a magnet on the back and use as a fridge magnet.

Materials used:
1. Craftyscrappers stamp - Sending Sunshine
2. Pattern paper
3. Colour pencils
4. Black ink
5. Gem embellishment

1. The size of the 8 x 8 inch. I scored at 1/2", 1", 1 1/2", 2". This scoring is done on all sides of the cardstock.
2. On 2 sides of the (label the side as A) make another 1/2" score from the edge of the card to the second horizontal scored line. This is done on all sides.
3. Cut the sides and crease the scored lines well. Fold and paste all the folds.
4. Once the shadow box is formed, add the flower to one side of the sentiment opposite to the flower image.
5. To finish the box, I added some gem embellishments.

Fridge magnet

Hello there,

I am so excites to share another post today. I have made a card for Craftyscrappers inspiration theme ' Floral'. I have a fridge magent made using twine and I used Magnificent Champaka one of my favourite floral stamps.

Materials used:
1. Craftyscrappers stamp - Magnificent Champaka
2. Twine
3. Spectrum Noir alcohol markers
4. Shimmer paste - Moss
5. White pearls
6. Tacky glue

1. First, I started by twisting and wrapping the twine into a circle. Here I have used a very thick twine. Once its set, I added a small circle die cut from heavy base cardstock on the back so it gives some sturdiness.
2. I used alcohol markers to colour the image and fuzzy cut it.
3. I used moss shimmer paste and applied it on one side of the twine. I let it air dry.
4. Once dry, I added the image. The image is off-set and the leaves actually hang off the circled twine.
5. To finish I added some pearls, sentiment, a gem stone to the center of the flower and finally a magnet using strong adhesive.

Hello there,

I am so excite to share today's post. I have made a card for Craftyscrappers inspiration theme ' Floral'. To make this card, I used Thanks stamp set. I kept the card very very simple here as the focus on was the background.

2. Blue card stock
3. Liquid pearls - silver
4. Ocean waves ink
5. Black ink
6. Silver card stock

1. I stamped the image and fuzzy it and kept it aside.
2. For the background, I stamped the sentiment using same colour ink.
3. On one side of the base, I added a small strip of silver cardstock.

5. I added the sentiment and base to a top fold note card.

Shadow box card tutorial

Hello there,

I am here today with a video tutorial post for Craftyscrappers where I did a shadow box and turned it into a card. For this card I used Sisters for life. I have also shown my way of colouring here using Tombow 1500 coloured pencils (36 set). I generally use poylchromos but wanted to try this too.

For the shadow box I used heavy base card stock and did fuzzy cutting for the images. I added a lot of embellishments to decorate the card.

YouTube link

Materials used:
1. Craftyscrappers stamp - Sisters for life
2. White card stock
    a. 10 x 10 inch for shadow box
    b. 6 x 12 for card (scored in the middle)
3. Tombow 1500 coloured pencils (36 set)
4. Altenew inks
    a. Jet black
    b. Ocean waves
5. Embellishments
6. Glossy accents

Write up:
1. I took a 10 x 10 inch cardstock and scored 4 times at half at inch on all sides (1/2", 1", 1 1/2" and 2")
2. I marked two sides as A and the other two sides as B
3. On the side a (both the A sides) from the edge of the card, I scored at 1/2" upto the second the scored line.
4. I marked the portion that needs to be cut using a pencil.
5. I cut out the marked areas and the creased the scored lines using a bone folder.
6. I added tacky glue to the edge of the card stock (2 sides at a time) and placed it next to the last scored line (the score at 2") and pasted them together.
7. Using the bone folder, I secured them well. When you open it, it looks like an elongated cube.
8. Do the same to other two sides too.
9. Adding little glue to the edges, paste the corners of the box. The box measures 6 inch by 6 inch and the middle part measures 5 x 5 inches.
10. Now the box is ready, I added some ink on the sides and stamped a sentiment from the stamp set.
11. I added pattern paper to the center and the images to it. I also added some embellishments and glossy accent to the skirts and the background. I also added a die cut snowflake to two corners of the shadow box
12. For the card, I tool 6 x 12 inch card base and scored in the middle to make it a 6 x 6 card.
13. I pasted the shadow box to the card base and added some sentiment inside to finish the card.

Hope you liked the video tutorial.

No line water colouring

Hello there,

I am back with another card project today. I have beautiful water colour card where I tried no line water colouring using stencils. The stencil I used today is from Craftyscrappers - Peony flowers. I only used the flower from the stencil and not the leaves.

I used water colour paper from Itsy Bitsy. They have released this new paper which is excellent for water colouring. The colours do not bleed nor the paper wraps. This is something I have been trying to get my hands on for a long time and finally got an excellent set of water colour papers.

For water colouring, I used Zig clean colour real brush. They are my favourite set of water colour brush. Its so easy to use and fun to make projects.

Materials used:

1. Stencil - Peony flowers
2. Zig markers
3. Distress ink
4. Water colour paper
5. Black ink  - for sentiment
6. Stamp - Sending sunshine (only for sentiment)

There is not much technique or ways to make this card. Its just simple watercolouring using stencils. This is something I wanted to try for a long time. I am not great at water colouring but my fellow crafters have encouraged me to try something new and have always been encouragaing. I love using some gem stones in my card. I feel they add a little sparkle to the cards.
