To make the sand look, I added texture paste from little birdie and mixed it with distress ink to get the sand colour.

4 projects using pattern paper

Hello there,

Welcome back to my blog. I am excited to share my new video here with all and its all about using pattern papers to create cards and other projects.

A little about how we can use pattern papers in our cards. We all know that pattern papers are used a lot and mostly for scrap booking or creating layouts. And mostly in card making, we can see the use of floral pattern or plaid or geometric design pattern papers that are normally used. This is because such designs actually go well with any stamps or cut out images. And the colour of these papers are also very subtle and mild and this helps the image pop out.

But for today's card, I have used a very different set of sheets were they are related to cooking. These sheets are related to only one theme and might be difficult to incorporate in card making. This set has a variety of papers where you can cut out some images separately and use them as embellishments.  But I have a few ideas here and I am very happy and excited to share them.

How better to share these projects than a video tutorial.......

Card in a card

Hello there,

I am here with a card for The Paper Shelter (TPS) challenge #388. TPS is a stamp company which provides digital stamps, accessories, pattern paper and much more.

We also have challenge blog where every week we have a different theme for the challenge and these are showcased by 2 teams. And for this week our challenge is "STRIPS AND DOTS". While entering the challenge, please remember to stick to the theme. Here I have used Coquette image to make this card.

I tried a new technique here called Card in a card. For this I took 2 top fold note cards of different sizes and added them together.

For the second card which is the bottom layer, I used daubers to add big dots on the entire note card. And for the first layer, I added some strips using old card stock.

I added the first note card on top of the second. I used tacky glue to add the layer. I used a tracing paper for the background. I added the fuzzy cut image to it and added it to the striped card base. To finish the card, I added some flowers and leaves from critter sheets.

I hope you all liked my project. Do check out our website for more images and also participate in our weekly challenge and get a chance to win great prizes (link for both are available at the beginning of the post).

Happy crafting.

Mixed media on canvas board

Hello there,

I am here with another project for today and I am exploring mixed media here... There are no rules as such for mixed media, so you can put it together a lot of elements and work with them to turn it into a beautiful home decor...

Today, I am here using My besties image for this project today. I used this beautiful image where the girl is sitting with her wings open.

To start with I did not gesso the canvas board but instead used alcohol inks for the background base and added some embossing paste using stencils. Then, I added burlap, chipboard, die cuts, flowers and some cut sheet elements and finish the project.

I hope you all liked it.

Image focus card

Hello there,

I am here with another card for Happy Craft Challenge where I did focus only one particular part of the image and coloured it.
This technique can be used with any image and depending on the image you have to select the focal point.

For this card, I used a digital image where there is a beautiful anchor here and decided to focus on that and subdue the rest of the image.

I used contrasting colours to colour the anchor so I keep the focus only on that image. I then oval die cut the image and added it to a note card. Since the image I used is anchor, I stamped a sentiment that goes with the image.

Birthday card for a little knight

Hello there,

I am here with a card for The Paper Shelter (TPS) challenge #386. TPS is a stamp company which provides digital stamps, accessories, pattern paper and much more.

We also have challenge blog where every week we have a different theme for the challenge and these are showcased by 2 teams. And for this week our challenge is "BIRTHDAY BOY". While entering the challenge, please remember to stick to the theme. Here I have used Brave and cute knight image to make this card.

Isn't this the cutest knight image. It makes a perfect card for a little boy's birthday. Children love anything that is handmade and given to them with loads of love.

For this card, I fuzzy cute the image and added it to a layered die cut and used some pattern paper and burlap strip. I love to add burlap strips to my projects. I added a sticker which has the birthday sentiment and some gemstones. To finish the card, I used a top fold note card.

I hope you all liked my project. Do check out our website for more images and also participate in our weekly challenge and get a chance to win great prizes (link for both are available at the beginning of the post).
