I'm delighted to share a whimsical and dimensional card I recently created, inspired by the magic of fairytales. This project focuses on digital images and layering techniques to build a sweet, enchanting scene.

Crafting the Fairytale Scene

This card features soft, gentle colors and a sweet composition that captures a moment from an imaginary storybook.

1. The Digital Foundation

 * Image Selection: I sourced a charming scene featuring a fairy house, a fairy, and a deer from Pinterest.

 * Printing: I printed the full image onto cardstock. Crucially, I printed the image twice—this is the secret to the card’s dimension!

2. Creating Depth with Layering

 * Fussy Cutting: I meticulously fussy cut the main image for the background layer.

 * Dimensional Pop: From the second printed copy, I specifically cut out the door of the house. I adhered this door piece using foam adhesive over the house on the main image. This simple step adds incredible, realistic dimension, making the door look like it's truly set back into the fairytale house!

 * Coloring: The original image was likely colored during the printing process, resulting in the lovely soft shades.

3. Embellishments & Finishing Touches

The card is heavily embellished with delicate florals and accents to enhance the fairytale theme:

 * Beautiful Blooms: I added several beautiful, high-quality paper flowers from I Am Roses, including pink and yellow/cream colored blooms. These flowers perfectly frame the image and reinforce the whimsical, lush setting.

 * Accents: I finished the card with a scattering of small beads for sparkle and a meaningful sentiment to complete the heartwarming message: "Life is a Fairytale."
