Hello craft lovers! Today I am thrilled to share a bright,
cheerful greeting card design featuring two irresistible little critters,
sparkling oversized gemstones, and bold colour-blocked diamond elements.
Whether you want to encourage a friend, thank a mentor, or celebrate someone
special, this layout brings together shimmer, texture, and uplifting sentiments
that are sure to put a huge smile on their face!
This card relies on a striking contrast between a warm cream
textured base and two vivid, tilted diamond panels:
Dual Diamond Focal Points: Tilted square frames in fiery ruby
red and rich emerald green.
Adorable Critters: A sweet grey bunny holding an emerald cut
gem, and a cuddly brown puppy clutching a sparkling heart ruby.
Glitter Borders & Metallic Splatter: Fine silver glitter
borders framing each diamond panel, plus a delicate spray of metallic gold and
opaque white paint splatters on the cream cardstock base.
Angled Sentiments: Stamped black lettering hugging the edges
of the diamond panels:
"No One Shines BRIGHTER THAN YOU"
"YOU'RE A GEM"
Step 1: Background & Splatter Texture
Start with a standard A2 cream cardstock base (4.25" x 5.5"). Mix a
tiny bit of water with white acrylic paint and gold watercolour, then flick the
brush across the base to create a subtle starry splatter background. Allow it
to dry completely.
Step 2: Stamp & Colour the Elements
Stamp the bunny, puppy, emerald, and ruby heart onto marker-friendly white
cardstock using black ink. Color the bunny in soft cool greys with rosy
cheeks. Color the puppy in warm caramel brown tones.For the gems, create
dramatic facet shading (bright highlight in center transitioning to deep
emerald/ruby edges). Add crisp starburst sparkle lines using a white gel pen!
Step 3: Create the Diamond Frames
Cut two squares out of red and emerald green cardstock. Cut slightly larger
frames out of silver glitter cardstock. Mount the colored squares onto the
silver glitter backgrounds, tilting them at 45° angles (diamond position).
Step 4: Stamping & Assembly
Arrange the two diamond panels diagonally across the card front. Using a
stamping platform or clear block, stamp: "No One Shines BRIGHTER
THAN YOU" along the top right edge of the red diamond. "YOU'RE
A GEM" along the bottom right edge of the green diamond.
Adhere the diamond panels flat onto the card base, then pop up the
critters and gems using 3D foam tape for eye-popping dimension!
