Snapshots of Joy: Mini Polaroid Critter Card

Hi crafty friends, There is something wonderfully nostalgic about mini Polaroid-style snapshots, especially when they are filled with sweet, sunny moments. This handmade card brings together playful illustrated snapshots, crisp diagonal striping, and a refreshing coastal color palette to send instant joy.

The focal point of the card is a cascading arrangement of four mini instant-photo frames, each highlighting an adorable critter scene. From cuddly cats and a chick sipping a tropical drink to sweet treat moments and cheerful bear cubs, every frame adds a touch of whimsical storytelling. Behind the photos, a bold sash of alternating mint, teal, and aqua diagonal stripes cuts across the card front, injecting bright movement into the composition. A deep navy blue border cleanly anchors the layout, providing a crisp contrast against the bright white card base, while a casual "Oh HAPPY Day..." sentiment anchors the bottom corner.

 

To create the striped background, blend coordinating teal and seafoam inks across a masked diagonal panel on crisp white cardstock, or piece together trimmed strips of colored paper. Next, stamp the cute critter vignettes into small rectangular Polaroid frames and color them with your favorite alcohol markers or colored pencils to bring each character to life.

Assemble the card by mounting a trimmed navy frame directly over the striped background panel. Arrange the mini Polaroid cuts at slightly skewed, playful angles flowing down the left side, using foam tape behind a few frames to give the card fun dimensional depth. Finally, stamp the sentiment in sharp black ink in the lower right-hand corner to complete a vibrant, smile-inducing project.

Summer layout

Today, I’m excited to share a scrapbook layout that perfectly captures the bright, refreshing energy of summer. While I love detailed projects, sometimes a clean and simple layout is the best way to let your memories (and your supplies!) shine—plus, they are so much easier to store!

To bring this vibrant layout to life, I reached for some gorgeous products from Pinkfresh Studio. The combination of yellows, greens, and blues immediately screams summer!

 * Summer Elements: I focused on two classic summer motifs: lemons and sunflowers. I used the Lemons & Blueberries stamp set and the Sunflower Washi Tape stamp to create my colorful embellishments. After stamping the images, I colored them in bright yellows and crisp greens before taking on the task of fussy cutting them out—it’s always worth the effort for that custom look!

 * Color-Matched Die-Cuts: To ensure the background elements flowed with the sunny theme, I incorporated die-cuts from both the Spiral Circle Die and the Twist Pattern Die. Before adhering them, I took the extra step of inking the die-cut pieces with coordinating yellow and green inks to seamlessly blend them with the lemons and leaves. This trick adds subtle texture without competing with the photos.

The Power of Simple Design

My goal for this layout was to keep the focus clean while using multiple layers of die-cuts and stamped images.

 * Background Building: I layered the delicate die-cuts on the page, using their intricate patterns to frame the space for the photos and title.

 * Placement Magic: Sometimes, the best way to finalize a design is to step away! I came back to the project with fresh eyes and immediately found the perfect arrangement for the colored elements, allowing them to cluster beautifully around the focal points.

 * Finishing Touches: The title was created using an Alphabet stamp and die set, keeping the typography clean and complementing the geometric background. The overall look is one of effortless summer joy!

Simple layout

Today’s project is all about proving that a scrapbook layout can be both stunning and incredibly simple to put together. I call this my "Simple Layout," and it's built around vibrant rainbow colors and a clean aesthetic.

For this project, I turned to my trusty stamps and dies from Pinkfresh Studio to bring the cheerful color palette to life.

1. The Custom Rainbow Background

Instead of messy ink blending, I took a more streamlined approach to the main background element.

 * Digital Design: I first worked out the unique, fan-like shape of the rainbow background digitally. This allowed me to perfectly plan the shape before committing to paper.

 * Printing & Texture: After printing the custom rainbow design, I added subtle dimension by incorporating score lines. This simple scoring adds fantastic texture and makes the paper catch the light beautifully, giving it a handcrafted touch even though it was digitally created.

2. A Touch of Vellum Elegance

To add delicate detail and break up some of the bright color, I used a piece of vellum. Vellum is perfect for adding layers without adding visual weight.

 * White Heat Embossing: I stamped sentiments or small details onto the vellum and used white heat embossing. The crisp white against the translucent vellum adds a beautiful, sophisticated element that really pops.

3. The Focal Point

The layout was finished by layering all the elements around the main photograph. By keeping the stamping and die-cutting simple and linear, all the focus stays right where it should be—on the memory! The combination of the clean photo frame, the vibrant rainbow, and the soft vellum creates a perfect balance.

Rainbow layout

Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

I am thrilled to share a colorful new scrapbook layout today, themed around the beautiful and cheerful rainbow (VIBGYOR) palette. This project uses bold colors, stunning florals, and contrasting techniques to celebrate a special memory.

For this layout, I utilized a fantastic array of stamps and dies from Pinkfresh Studio.

Building the Vibrant Background

The foundation of this layout is a striking, textural rainbow design, perfect for adhering to the Pinkfresh Studio monthly challenge.

 * Fringe Background: I took leftover cardstock scraps in the VIBGYOR colors and cut them into strips. I then created fringe cuts along one edge of each strip. These fringed strips were then stacked and adhered in rainbow order to form a dynamic, textured background for the photo.

Layered Florals and Die-Cuts

To complement the bright background, I created contrasting layered elements using florals and delicate foliage dies.

 * Foliage Dimension: I used the Foliage Shaker Die to cut delicate pieces from two contrasting materials: translucent vellum and shimmering silver cardstock. Layering these pieces adds subtle texture and shine around the photo.

 * Contrasting Sunflowers: The beautiful Sunflower Washi Tape Stamp was the focal point for the stamping.

   * Vellum Embossing: I stamped the sunflowers onto a vellum sheet and heat embossed them with crisp white embossing powder.

   * Bold Black Contrast: For a dramatic effect, I also stamped the sunflowers onto black cardstock and heat embossed them in white. I then added just a mild shading of color to the black embossed flowers, allowing the strong contrast of white on black to dominate.

Finishing the Layout

The final arrangement places the two contrasting photo prints nestled among the layered foliage and bright florals. The page is finished with a simple sentiment and a few sparkling gemstones to tie in with the silver accents.

This layout perfectly blends a cheerful rainbow theme with sophisticated techniques like heat embossing and dimensional die-cutting, resulting in a fun, layered, and memorable piece.

For quiet sometime (which I mean since covid) I had this alphabet S lying around and didn't work with it. Recently I had an opportunity to use the alphabet to make something fun. I planned to use some pattern papers and some elements but then due to lack of time I ended up just adding mulberry flowers. These flowers are from I am Roses, which is a Thailand based company that offers a wide range of mulberry flowers that are pocket friendly as well. If you haven't tried their flowers, I would suggest to check their site and fill your craft room with their flowers. I randomly added shades of pink flowers to the base and went around with lights as well. Its hardly took time to make this.

Sunflower layout

I am back here with a layout this time using Sunflower washi tape stamp and Foliage shaker die from Pink Fresh Studio. Pink fresh is one of my favourite companies as their stamps are dies are different from usual and they have a very fresh take on their products. They have a wonderful design team as well. 

I am playing along with fellow crafters on this month's challenge at Pink fresh studio. When it comes to taking part in challenges I never think about winning and just to see my work in the entry gallery. This month the theme being geometric, I worked with circles and tiny squares. I die cut circles and partially inked them and added some interest using alcohol markers. 

I coloured the flowers and leaves and die cut some foliage dies as well.. I placed all the elements to see how to work about with layout. I splattered some inks on the background and the pasted all the elements together. I finished up with sentiment and some gemstones.

Birthday twist card

Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

After a long break I am here with a birthday card, with a twist. I am playing with inking and trying to focus on the outline stamp image. I used stamp from iCraft design which I bought from a local store. I have used their stencils earlier but now trying with stamp. Its a beautiful design and I decided to play here. I used 3 shades and masked and inked the card base. Then I stamped the image with black ink and used pencils for some details. I finished the card with a sentiment.

Roses layout

Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

I am here today with a layout using R60-596 Romantica roses, R6 - 00 Mixed pink tone and ZQL(0M)-0 Green Rose leaves from IamRoses along with an old paper pack lying at home. I made an album and with the remaining left over sheets, I made a card which I posted earlier and a layout. I love the large roses I used. They make the layout so pretty and works for album as well.

Rainbow layout

I am here with a colourful layout and playing for Pink fresh studio challenge. For the layout I used using Sunflower washi stamp set with coordinating Sunflower washi layering stencil along with Spiral circle die and Foliage shaker die and Curvy leaf die. I stamped and stencilled the flowers and die cut leaves and circle. For the base and background, I coloured a white cardstock that's 12 x 12 with rainbow colours where I took mini ink cube and just swiped the colours and then added the photo, stamped and cut flowers and dies. I finished with some jewels and sentiment.

Layers of love

I was invited as a guest designer for Panda Craft Studio for Jun-July and made 3 projects. Panda craft studio has wide range of tools which are like guide to make boxes, albums and more. They also have double sided paper which are sturdy enough to make albums and boxes. In their website they have a few combo offers too and when it comes to price range, its pocket friendly. 

I have used their new release Heart explosion box big. There 3 layers in this explosion box which can used together or even separately as gift box. This my first layer explosion box else I generally make one layer explosion box. It was definitely fun to make layered box. Below I have pictures of all three layers. Just click on the image and zoom to see the details. I used their newly launched double sided paper pack - Coral blues to make this explosion box. Apart from the pattern paper, I also used contrasting cardstock which compliments the paper pack for die cutting and adding them to the box. I used some element sheets from Die cuts and more to add to the box along with flowers.

Roseate birthday cake topper

I am here again with a birthday cake topper where I made DIY pattern paper using stencils and ink pads from Tubby craft. Its super fun to make something different as a cake topper or embellishment. Its so easy to make and I used coloured cardstock to stencil and scroll down to see. Though its not shown much in the picture, it looks so beautiful in real. To add some more to the roseate, I added stamped and coloured cake image and some die cut leaves and flowers. The same roseate can be used on various projects like to make small embeliehsments or ATC or to decorate albums or even cards..

Summer fun

I am super excited to share a layout I made for my darling niece using Infinite blooms, Sweet friend, Geo arch stencil, Curvy leaves die  and Ornate circle die. She is currently in vacation mode and this is an old picture of hers from last year when she was holiday. I love summer holidays. When I was in school I used to have 2 months of vacation and it was always fun. I used to attend summer camps and laze most of the time. I never used to get up before 9.30 in the morning and would just wait for my mom to cut mangoes for me. When I started college all of summer holidays I used to study study study.. I really miss doing nothing LOL...... I am happy my niece and nephew are enjoying their holidays and this is one for her..

Layout - using dies and critters

Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

For me crafting is therapy. I don't have a plan for layouts or cards and I just go with the flow. I missed my niece a lot and when that happens I end up making a layout with her picture. While browing Instagram, I come across a lot of layout where die cut flowers are used and I thought maybe I could give it a try. When I saw DCAM release a bunch of layering dies, I thought maybe I should give it a try. 

Layering flowers - 1, Layering flowers - 3, Layering leaves - 2, Sparkle burst die with medallion and Stained glass border along with Magnolia delight all from Die cuts and more and I used an old single pattern paper that was a leftover and started layering all the die cut pieces. I didn't have perfect colour cardstock for the dies and hence I inked up all the die cuts and layered them. Finished the layout with some pearls and splattered black ink.
