Birthday roses

Hello there,
Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

I am happy to share a card I finally made using Twist pattern die and Choose hope stamp set from Pink fresh studio. Twist pattern die has become one of my favourite dies for background. I die cut from white cardstock multiple times and stacked them up for dimension and finally from silver cardstock. I added it to top fold note card and cut the ends to give it a shape. I stamped the beautiful roses bunch from Choose hope stamp set and coloured with pink for flowers and yellow and green for leaves. I finished the card with sentiment and embellishments.

Sending hugs card

Hello there,
Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

I am sharing a card I am made using Craft-A-Flower: Tulip Full Bloom Layering Die Set and Flourishing Garden 3D embossing folder from Altenew. I have some layering dies but I hardly use them but since there was little time, I decided to make a card using tulip dies and embossing folder. I die cut the petals from orange card stock and leaves from green then I did some ink blending on the die cut pieces. I made two flowers thinking I will add both but changed my mind. I want a 3D look to the flower so added the first one and using foam adhesive I added the second flower to some dimension and a 3D look (its not seen on the pic but looks nice in real). Using black cardstock, I did dry embossing with 3D folder and added it to note card and finished it with a sentiment.

Life is a fairytale

Hello there,
Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

I am sharing another card which I made yesterday evening after putting my daughter to sleep. I picked out the house, fairy and deer from Pinterest and printed in on a cardstock. I printed the house twice as I wanted to give some dimension. I fuzzy cut the image and from one of the images, I cut the door and added it using foam adhesive. I added a couple of flowers from I am roses - R75(S) -YCC (25Pcs) and S10 Achillea Cottage. Once I was done with the images, I added a couple of beads and a sentiment.

I also got a mail from Feedspot that my blog has been choosen in Top 100 blogs chennai. I flaunted my badge on the main page.

Now to my card, I used Craft-A-Flower: Flowering Dogwood Layering Die Set and sentiment from Craft Your Life Project Kit: Flourishing Garden. I die cut two set of flowers and layered it accordingly after inking them. I also die cut the leaves and inked them with Altenew inks. For the card base, I had an old sot background and used it and made a shaker card. I finished it with a sentiment.

Sunflower card

Hello there,
Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

I am happy to share another card here today. My card shows my love for sunflowers. A few days back, I shared a card where I used sunflower elements for a slimline card. Today, its a A2 card with a contrasting background where I used strips of black cardstock and made a background. I used digital image Sunflower from Power poppy. I used no-line image and used pencils to colour the image. I used alcohol markers and white gel pen to add some interest to the image. I have scrap piece of vellum and used it to the background as well. I finished the card with a sentiment.

Hello sunshine

Hello there,
Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

I am back with another card and this time its a CAS card. I was having the floral sticker with me for a very long time and didn't know where to use it. I was working on another card and had some vellum leftover which I decided to use for the card base. First I wanted to have a die cut background but changed my mind to embossed background using an embossing folder. After embossing, I adhered to a white note card and the look of vellum embossed is so pretty. I added the sticker to the center of the card and a sentiment and small flowers to finish the card.

Birthday wishes

Hello there,
Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

Lets start March with my favourite flower, sunflowers. Recently, in our building I saw a couple of sunflowers blooming and I immediately made a card. To make this card, I used Slimline cross strips die and Sunflower critter sheet from Die cuts and more. Its one of my favourite brands where they have beautiful dies - Indian theme and slimline dies are wonderful. In recent time, I have been quiet busy with so many things and didn't have the time to colour. In such cases, I prefer to use critter flowers to make cards. I die cut the slimline background using black cardstock and assembled them onto a vellum base. While die cutting, the V shaped pieces all fall apart but I stacked them up together. I added the critter flowers to the card base and added some small flowers and leaves as well and finished the card with a sentiment.

Pink birthday card

Hello there,
Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

I am happy to share another card and its a birthday cards, I made using Dahlia from Power Poppy. I came across this digi and immediately bought it and decided to make a card. The best thing about digis are the size of image can be changed accordingly. I printed out two dahlias on either corner of the and thought I will make a slimline card but I hardly had anytime to actually colour the image. I am like so exhausted these days and trying to bring back my energy to colour. I love colouring and I have so many brands of pencils to colour but I am tired. I hope to find my mojo back soon. I used shades of pink to colour the flower and used an old embossing folder for the card base and fuzzy cut the image. I added it to one corner of the card base, added a sentiment. Instead of embellishments, I added a strip of pink and silver cardstock.

Die cut in-lay

Hello there,
Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

I am back with another beautiful card using dies from Little birdie - Blooming spread and Window blind dies to make this card. It took me a while to make the card as it required die cut inlay technique and colouring the petals.

I first, used the background die and die cut for the base and trimmed out the sides. Then, using blooming spread die and die cut from black cardstock for the outline. Then I took a white cardstock and die cut again and kept the pieces intact in the die. I took each piece and coloured using alcohol markers and added them to the die cut outline. To finish the card, I added the sentiment and some embellishments.

Warm hugs card

Hello there,
Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

I am happy to share another card today, using a very beautiful stamp set from iCraft. I love the floral spray and beautiful flowers in the bunch. I am not great in water colouring but just gave it a shot. I stamped the image using versamark ink as it has to be waterproof. For colouring I used beyond inks watercolours. I fished the card with a sentiment.

TPS - Tribute post

Hello there,
Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

This week and next, rather than running our usual Blog Hop, the Design Team at The Paper Shelter is honouring our beautiful co-founder Veronica, who tragically left us on the 25th of September 2024.

Veronica was a kind, supportive, beautiful soul, who alongside her co-founder Pedro, produced the images we all know and love to create with.

There is a vacuum in the world today, where Veronica used to be, and we will miss her terribly.

For my card, I've used Pixie image from the store. As a design team member, I have always admired Veronica for her kindness towards the team and understanding us. She will truly be missed and I will keep working on her images.

Our winner for our TRIBUTE challenge will win a 6 products of your choice if you've used a Paper Shelter product on your entry (you could choose the pre-coloured image, the black and white digi, or the digital paper that comes in the set), or 3 products of your choice, if you've used another brand.  You can enter the challenge up to 3 times, provided you've used a Paper Shelter product on at least one of them.

Thank you for stopping by and hope you all enjoyed the card.
Stay happy and keep crafting.

Cosmos birthday card

Hello there,
Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

I am happy to share another card with kraft cardstock colouring. I love colouring on kraft cardstock and didn't expect that colours will be so bright and I would enjoy the process.

This is a one layer top fold card and I used Cosmos from Pinkfresh Studio and I off-set the stamp towards the top of the card. I coloured them using Lyra colour pencils and kept the card very simple with some silver splatters and sentiment.

Chirpy birthday

Hello there,
Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

One of my favourite images is this bird from Wplus 9. Its an old stamp set and I have coloured the same on white  cardstock with different colours but the end result was not the same as colouring on kraft cardstock. My latest obsession is colouring on kraft cardstock and I didnt use fancy colour combination. Just went with basic colours. I recently started using Memento tuxedo black ink and I am loving it. It doesnt bleed and I stamp the images at one go. I used Lyra colour pencils to colour the image and a sentiment. The card is very simple and focuses on the image.

Statement flower

Hello there,
Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

My latest obsession is colouring on kraft cardstock. I had to recently travel back home and I always carry stamped images and pencils to colour. I am not great with watercolours and markers. I am still learning my way with colour pencils and one step at a time. I had a ton of kraft cardstock lying around which I didn't use. Sometimes I get tired of colouring on white cardstock and they don't turn out well. I stamped a few images and took them along with me and when I had free time, I coloured them.

One of my favourite stamps is Statement flowers from Altenew. The large floral image gives a ton of scope for colouirng and experimenting with different combinations. I stuck with traditional colours like pink and yellow. I want to try other colours as well but sometime later. The card is very simple and its a one layer card with coloured image and a sentiment and nothing fancy.

Geometric party

Hello there,
Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

My first post for this month is using geometric butterfly stamp set from Mudra stamps - Geometric nature. I generally use white cardstock but this time I went along with kraft cardstock. I realised that colouring on kraft cardstock is absolute fun and colours are definitely bright and wild on them. I started out with one side of the wings making it colourful and the other side with shades of brown, just to give it a different look and I ended up loving it. I added the coloured piece to white notecard and stamped a sentiment. The card is simple and focuses of the coloured butterfly.

Mermaid kindness

Hello there,
Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

Who doesn't like mermaids?? I love mermaid images and colouring them is always fun. There is no specific colour for their fins and its perfect for any colour. I am using image from The Paper shelter - Mermaid's melody. I used Freshly made sketches as a guide to make the card. I used a background stamp from MFT - wavy pattern and stamped on white cardstock. I inked the stamped pattern using shades of blue. (Zoom and see the pattern). I finished with a sentiment and some bubbles.

Monstrous birthday

Hello there,
Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

I am sharing another birthday card using Fuzzy monster stamp set from Your next stamp. Many know that Your next stamp has shut down and it's my favourite stamp company and I will use their stamps more often. The card is simple with a monster flying out of an envelope with a golden balloon and gifts. I added a sentiment and my card is done. I used Ohuhu markers to colour the image.
