Sunflower card

I am happy to share another card here today. My card shows my love for sunflowers. A few days back, I shared a card where I used sunflower elements for a slimline card. Today, its a A2 card with a contrasting background where I used strips of black cardstock and made a background. I used digital image Sunflower from Power poppy. I used no-line image and used pencils to colour the image. I used alcohol markers and white gel pen to add some interest to the image. I have scrap piece of vellum and used it to the background as well. I finished the card with a sentiment.

Pink birthday card

Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

I am happy to share another card and its a birthday cards, I made using Dahlia from Power Poppy. I came across this digi and immediately bought it and decided to make a card. The best thing about digis are the size of image can be changed accordingly. I printed out two dahlias on either corner of the and thought I will make a slimline card but I hardly had anytime to actually colour the image. I am like so exhausted these days and trying to bring back my energy to colour. I love colouring and I have so many brands of pencils to colour but I am tired. I hope to find my mojo back soon. I used shades of pink to colour the flower and used an old embossing folder for the card base and fuzzy cut the image. I added it to one corner of the card base, added a sentiment. Instead of embellishments, I added a strip of pink and silver cardstock.

TPS - Tribute post

Hello there,

Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

This week and next, rather than running our usual Blog Hop, the Design Team at The Paper Shelter is honouring our beautiful co-founder Veronica, who tragically left us on the 25th of September 2024.

Veronica was a kind, supportive, beautiful soul, who alongside her co-founder Pedro, produced the images we all know and love to create with.

There is a vacuum in the world today, where Veronica used to be, and we will miss her terribly.

For my card, I've used Pixie image from the store. As a design team member, I have always admired Veronica for her kindness towards the team and understanding us. She will truly be missed and I will keep working on her images.

Fiery birthday

I recently came across a page in Instagram which had a very interesting theme challenge - Lunar new year where we have to make cards related to Lunar new year or dragon birthday card. When I saw the post, I was intrigued and wanted to join their challenge. I found this cute dragon digital image and wanted to wanted to make a card. Lunar birthday

Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

I am here with a card using digital image from The Paper Shelter - Lunar dreamer. Its such a gorgeous image and I had to colour it and make a card. I used subtle colour for the dress and kept the card super simple. I wanted a dark and contrasting background that goes well the coloured image. I decided to go with black and since plain black was not complimenting I did embossing using embossing folder from Altenew. I fuzzy cut the image and added it to the card base and finished with sentiment and gemstones.

I am back with a cute card using Exotic enchantment from The Paper Shelter.  Have you checked out the beautiful images from Paper Shelter.. I just love these images are they come as a combo. There is outline image, coloured image, a background and a combo of background and coloured image.. 

I coloured the image with purple for the dress, yellow for the wings and green for the hair. I used complementing pattern paper and floral elements and handmade small flowers. Its a top fold note card and I have quiet a few layers here.

Shaker this birthday

Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

I am back after a break with a pretty shaker birthday card. My mother-in-law is here for knee replacement surgery and really busy with taking care of her. I finally had some time over the weekend to make this card. It was so relaxing and super fun to craft after hectic 2 weeks of running from hospital to work and home and zumba sessions. I am waiting for friday so I can catch up on my sleep and probably end up like Aurora. 

Coming to the card, I used this beautiful birthday girl from LeAnns World 101 and she is holding a balloon. I coloured using pencils and I kept her aside. I wasn't sure how to proceed with the card, whether to make it shaker or just a simple card. I went on to make a shaker card and some element flowers as well. I used the same colour shaker elements for the card and complimenting pattern paper and finished the card with a sentiment.

Nami says hello

Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

I have Nami waving hello today as she sits on a rock peaceful and happy. Its a cute mermaid digi from Sweet November stamps and took inspiration from their site to make this card. I coloured her with pencils and for the background, I did some water colouring on watercolour paper which is 300gsm and works best for water colouring. I just added some birds and palm trees and finished with a sentiment stamped.

Eyes of nature

Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

I am super excited to share one of my favourite cards I made recently using Eyes of nature from The Paper Shelter. Its an oval shaped top fold card and I added some elements like critter flowers and leaves, along with die cut leaves that match the critter leaves shade and some handmade small flowers. 

I didn't expect that this card will turn out to be pretty. I kept the colouring very simple and the focus stays on the coloured image. I hope you all check out the image and give a shot at making a beautiful card.

Summer beach

Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

Its super hot here in India and I wish I could jump into the pool and stay there forever. I am waiting for a short vacation some place near the beach and the closest I could get is making this vintage card using Fun and sun from The Paper Shelter. Paper shelter has wonderful digital images and if you haven't checked them out, I suggest you to have a look at the images. Card is super simple and focused fully on the image and just added sea to the background and some birds and a couple of boats. Its a side fold note card and I have a message written on the inside of the card.

Spring birthday flowers

Spring is in the air and lets work with some florals. For this card, I used digital stamps from The Paper Shleter - Wild rose and I used shades of purple. I coloured with alcohol markers - Ohuhu markers and for some highlighting, I added a blue outline and the same in the middle. I had no idea what kind of sentiment I had to add for the card. I always make a top fold note card but for this one, I made a side fold note card and added a birthday sentiment and finished with purple cardstock for the background and some gemstones.

I am back with another card for this month's challenge and I am going with products from Pink fresh studio Butterflies and Essentials: Nested Chevron die. I used the large butterfly from the stamp set and coloured with blue and green colours. I took shades of purple ink and inked a white cardstock and inked it like its a ombre. I used nested chevron die and die cut the inked cardstock. I first stacked the pieces and for in between I used foam adhesive for dimension. Using a double side tape, I added the butterfly and finished with gemstones and sentiment.

Sweet card

Its all about sweets and Sundae time is perfect for the theme challenge thats happening at The paper shelter and I love this image and how the card has turned out. I added quite a few layers for the base which also includes an embossed pink cardstock and some handmade flowers to go along with the card. Adding some embellishments like some flowers enhances the card and the image and makes them very pretty.

Blue jasmine card

Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

I am here with another floral card for today where I am using White jasmine from Alex Syberia designs and its a beautiful digital image and I loved colouring it. I used alcohol markers to colour the flower and used blue for the flower and green for the leaves. I coloured the image and fuzzy it and then placed it on a mat and sprayed shimmer spray to give some shine and sparkle to the flower. While it was drying, I took a white card stock and embossed it using an embossing folder and the sides of the folder has some flower so I added some silver on the dots there. I added the flower to the center and finished the card with some gemstones and sentiment.

I am back with a card for LeAnn world challenge happening month where the theme is anything goes. We have two inspirations and my mid month inspiration is using Caite and I added a cute pattern paper to the card base and then some flowers and leaves that match the image coloured. To finished the card, I added a sentiment and added a gemstone to the center of the flowers.

Owl fashionista

Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

This is the most gorgeous owl image I coloured and its the cutest one too. The image is called Owl fashionista from Julia Spiri. The image has lots of elements to colour and it was super fun to make a card. I made a circle card here and added some die cut flowers and leaves along with some pattern paper and some more elements. I made this card for World wide challenge which goes live every month on the 15th and we will be using images from Julia Spiri.
