Garden Party Parade

Hey everyone! Today I’m sharing a super sweet, clean-and-simple (CAS) card that is all about celebrating with some adorable garden friends. This design uses a clever layout to feature a parade of colored critters against a pastel fence backdrop, finished with a simple, elegant sentiment.

The focal point of this card is the central horizontal panel. To create this look, I started with a piece of white cardstock and masked off a strip with low-tack tape. Using a few Distress Oxide ink colors—Spun Sugar, Shaded Lilac, and Squeezed Lemonade—I blended a soft, diagonal sunset gradient across the panel. Once the ink was dry, I stamped the picket fence image directly onto this blended background using a deep brown hybrid ink to keep the lines soft.

Then came the fun part: coloring! I reached for my markers and pencils to bring these cute little critters from a popular stamp set to life. From left to right, I colored the snail, the little blue bug, the tiny green caterpillar, and the smiling yellow bee. For a cohesive look, I used similar blending techniques and shading with my markers to add depth and dimension to each character. Once colored, I trimmed the panel down and framed it neatly with thin black cardstock strips above and below, making it pop against the white card base.

To finish the card, I adhered the assembled panel horizontally across the upper-middle portion of a vertical white card base. Below the panel, in the open white space, I stamped the sentiment "Let's Celebrate" using a coordinating black ink, opting for a playful, hand-lettered style font to match the whimsy of the colored images. The clean, minimalist white space really allows the vibrant fence and cute characters to shine. This card comes together relatively quickly but makes such a cheerful statement, perfect for birthdays or any happy occasion!

Whimsical dragons

Hello and welcome! I’m so excited to share this adorable card with you today. It's a little scene of pure fantasy and friendship, featuring some charming creatures that were an absolute joy to create. This card is centered around two whimsical teal dragons, stamped from a delightful Mama Elephant set, that are just soaring through the clouds. The larger, lower dragon is carrying a tiny, sweet girl rider, while a smaller dragon flies happily alongside them. They are traveling through a magical, horizontal band that transitions from deep purple to soft pink, complete with glittery accents that look like twinkling stars and delicate snowflakes.

To create the background, I used ink blending on a clean white panel to achieve that smooth, vibrant purple-to-pink gradient. After the ink was dry, I applied a touch of glitter paste over the blended area for a bit of magical sparkle. The dragons and the rider were meticulously colored with pencils in a vibrant teal, with beautiful pink and metallic bronze details on their wings that catch the light wonderfully. I then die-cut the images and popped them up with foam adhesive to give the scene dimension, making it look like they are truly flying off the card and towards their destination.

The sentiment, "FLYING BY TO SAY...", is stamped in a crisp black script below the dragon's flight path, making it perfect for so many occasions—from a simple hello to a "thinking of you" or "congratulations" message. The finished panel was then layered onto a warm kraft cardstock base, adding a touch of natural texture that complements the bright colors perfectly. This card is all about spreading cheer and imagination with a touch of fantasy. I hope this project inspires you to create something magical today!

Whimsical Gnome Birthday Card

Bring a touch of magic to someone’s special day with a handmade gnome card featuring vibrant colors, gold splatters, and charming garden details. Here is a breakdown of how to recreate this cheerful, whimsical birthday scene step-by-step.

Blend the Sky Background:

Start with an A2 white cardstock panel. Using a foam blending tool and light blue ink, gently blend from the edges inward, creating a soft sky effect. Leave the center slightly lighter to give a glowing illusion.

Add Metallic Gold Splatters

Mix a small amount of metallic gold watercolor pigment with water. Tap your brush over the card panel to create fine splatters across the sky background. Allow this layer to dry completely before proceeding.

Stamp your gnomes, sunflower, tree stump, leaves, and mushrooms onto marker-friendly white cardstock using fade-proof black ink. Color each piece with bright, vivid shades.

Gnomes: Use teal blue for the top gnome's hat and vibrant pink/magenta for the bottom gnome's outfit.

Sunflower: Layer golden yellows and warm oranges on the petals, with textured dark brown in the center.

Mushrooms: Color with bright red caps and white dots (enhance the dots using a white gel pen).

Tree Stump & Foliage: Shade with earthy browns and rich bright greens.

Once colored, fussy cut each piece neatly with precision scissors or use coordinating dies.

Position the panel in a stamping tool and stamp "Happy Birthday" crisp and clean in black ink near the top right quadrant of the card background. Begin layering the cut elements along the bottom border of the card: Glue the background greenery and large mushroom directly to the card panel using liquid adhesive. Place the tree stump and small gnome on the left using flat adhesive. Mount the sunflower-holding gnome on the tree stump using foam squares to give him a popped-up 3D look. Add the final details like the pink gnome on the bottom left and extra leaves overlapping the base. Apply a shimmer pen to the sunflower petals and gnome hats for subtle sparkle. Highlight the top surfaces of the foliage and mushrooms with small strokes of a white gel pen to accentuate the light source.

Pair this card with a matching envelope, and your whimsical garden creation is ready to brighten up anyone’s birthday!

A Card to Remind You to 'Treat Yourself

Hey crafty friends! Is it just me, or do we all need a gentle reminder to take a break and indulge sometimes? Life can get busy, and it's so easy to push self-care to the bottom of the list. That's why I created this card – a little sugary pick-me-up to remind someone (or maybe just myself!) that it's okay to indulge. If you’re a fan of making sweet, whimsical cards, this one's for you!

This card was all about fun and simplicity. I wanted to use a selection of adorable, "kawaii-style" dessert stamps. Think ice cream cones with personalities, boba cups that smile, and chocolate chip cookies that just look happy to see you. There's something instantly cheering about these designs. The goal was to build a collage of yummy things, centered around a simple, powerful message.

I started with a base of rustic kraft cardstock. Kraft cardstock provides a lovely, natural texture that makes the bright colors of the sweets really pop. It also gives the card a slightly less formal, more cozy feel. To give it more dimension, I added white ink splatters across the background. This technique is a simple way to create texture and visual interest. (Tip: Cover your stamped images with scrap paper if you do this after coloring!)

Coloring the Treats: The core of this card is the Copic-colored sweet treats. I used a variety of cheerful marker combinations to bring the sweets to life:

  • Ice Cream Cone: Mint green and pastel pink for the scoops, with warm browns for the cone.
  • Boba Tea: A mix of blues for the drink and different shades of green for the straw.
  • Hot Cocoa: Soft pinks and blues for the mug and the cream.
  • Slices & Cupcake: I chose bright purples, yellows, and pinks for the layers and the cherry on top.
  • Cookies: Classic warm browns and tan for the chocolate chip cookies.

Don't forget the sparkles: Adding white gel pen highlights really makes these images look finished and a little extra magical.

Arranging the Layout: Once the images were colored and fussy-cut, I arranged them in a pleasing cluster around the sentiment. The central sentiment, "TREAT yourself," is stamped in black ink using a bold, playful font that matches the illustrative style of the sweets. I popped some of the images up with foam squares to add different levels and dimensions to the card.

Mix and Match: Don't be afraid to pull stamps from different sets. Creating a "treat buffet" is a great way to use your stash.

Embrace Color: This is not the time to be subtle! Go for bright, happy colors that make you smile.

Add Simple Texture: The white ink splatters I used are a perfect example. A stencil and embossing paste or some dimensional gloss could also work beautifully.

Keep It Light: The whole point of a card like this is to bring joy. The simpler and more lighthearted the design, the better.

I hope this card brings a little bit of sweetness to your day. Whether you're sending it to a friend who needs a smile, or keeping it as a reminder for yourself, a card that celebrates the little joys in life is always a good idea. So, go ahead, make a sweet card, share it, and of course... remember to treat yourself!

Coastal Charm for a Very Happy Birthday

Hello, craft friends! Today I'm thrilled to share a nautical-themed birthday card that brings together some truly adorable elements. This project, featuring delightful gnomes and sea creatures, is sure to make any recipient smile.

The card itself is a work of art, featuring a beautifully colored scene on a card front that is matted to a crisp white card base. I've designed a layered seascape, complete with tiny islands, a winding river of blue water, and rocky outcrops. The main scene is dominated by a cheerful green-hatted gnome, ready to celebrate.

To set the scene, I added a classic red-and-white lighthouse standing tall against a rising (or setting) sun. For some playful character, I've included two cheeky seagulls perched on different islands. The background of the scene has a soft, textured finish with subtle horizontal lines. The sentiment, a classic "Happy Birthday," is stamped neatly in a simple black font across the upper sky, keeping the focus on the delightful illustration.

The coloring of this card was a true joy. I used Copic markers to bring the scene to life, layering colors for the water and rendering the gnome in vibrant shades. The light coloring and clean lines give the entire project a cheerful and friendly look. This card feels like a miniature watercolor painting, with soft blended colors and precise ink work. It’s perfect for anyone who loves the beach, lighthouses, and a touch of whimsical charm.

If you enjoy creating cards with a whimsical, story-driven feel, give a similar scene a try! It's a fantastic way to practice stamp positioning and coloring skills.

Brightening Birthdays with Handcrafted Sunflower Cards

There is something truly special about sending—and receiving—a handmade card. In a world dominated by instant text messages and digital notifications, taking the time to craft a piece of paper art brings a personal touch that simply can’t be replicated.

This floral birthday card project combines texture, subtle shimmer, and vibrant hand-colored elements to create a cheerful, sunshine-filled greeting.

Crafting the Details

The design balances simple elegance with pops of bold color through a few intentional techniques:

Embossed Background: The white card base features a deep die-cut embossed sunflower pattern, adding rich tactile texture without cluttering the layout.

Gold Splatter Accents: Subtle gold paint splatters scattered across the background give the piece a soft, metallic shimmer when it catches the light.

Vibrant Floral Centrepiece: The focal point consists of potted sunflowers coloured in warm gradients of orange, yellow, and green, set against cool teal and purple pots for maximum contrast.

Clean Sentiment Band: A crisp white banner framed with fine black lines anchors the "Happy Birthday" sentiment, keeping the message clear and legible.

Keep the Base Neutral: When working with bright focal images (like vivid orange sunflowers), use a monochrome white-on-white embossed background. It adds depth and interest without competing with your main subject.

Play with Contrast: Elevate warm-toned flowers by placing them in cool-toned containers (blue, teal, or violet). This makes the warm hues pop off the page.

Don't Skip the Splatter: A fine metallic splatter is an easy way to tie a card design together and fill negative space without adding heavy elements.

Handcrafted cards are more than just paper—they are miniature keepsakes that let loved ones know they are celebrated.

"You're A Gem!" Handmade Card

Hello craft lovers! Today I am thrilled to share a bright, cheerful greeting card design featuring two irresistible little critters, sparkling oversized gemstones, and bold colour-blocked diamond elements. Whether you want to encourage a friend, thank a mentor, or celebrate someone special, this layout brings together shimmer, texture, and uplifting sentiments that are sure to put a huge smile on their face!

This card relies on a striking contrast between a warm cream textured base and two vivid, tilted diamond panels:

Dual Diamond Focal Points: Tilted square frames in fiery ruby red and rich emerald green.

Adorable Critters: A sweet grey bunny holding an emerald cut gem, and a cuddly brown puppy clutching a sparkling heart ruby.

Glitter Borders & Metallic Splatter: Fine silver glitter borders framing each diamond panel, plus a delicate spray of metallic gold and opaque white paint splatters on the cream cardstock base.

Angled Sentiments: Stamped black lettering hugging the edges of the diamond panels:
"No One Shines BRIGHTER THAN YOU"
"YOU'RE A GEM"

Step 1: Background & Splatter Texture
Start with a standard A2 cream cardstock base (4.25" x 5.5"). Mix a tiny bit of water with white acrylic paint and gold watercolour, then flick the brush across the base to create a subtle starry splatter background. Allow it to dry completely.

Step 2: Stamp & Colour the Elements
Stamp the bunny, puppy, emerald, and ruby heart onto marker-friendly white cardstock using black ink. Color the bunny in soft cool greys with rosy cheeks. Color the puppy in warm caramel brown tones. For the gems, create dramatic facet shading (bright highlight in center transitioning to deep emerald/ruby edges). Add crisp starburst sparkle lines using a white gel pen!

Step 3: Create the Diamond Frames
Cut two squares out of red and emerald green cardstock. Cut slightly larger frames out of silver glitter cardstock. Mount the colored squares onto the silver glitter backgrounds, tilting them at 45° angles (diamond position).

Step 4: Stamping & Assembly
Arrange the two diamond panels diagonally across the card front. Using a stamping platform or clear block, stamp: "No One Shines BRIGHTER THAN YOU" along the top right edge of the red diamond. "YOU'RE A GEM" along the bottom right edge of the green diamond.

Adhere the diamond panels flat onto the card base, then pop up the critters and gems using 3D foam tape for eye-popping dimension!

Polaroid Birthday Card

If you love sweet treats, adorable animals, and snapshot-style crafts, this handmade card is about to become your new favourite project! Combining playful polaroid frames with charming illustrations, this design captures bright colours, cute characters, and cheerful summer vibes all in one go.

Interactive Polaroid Style: The miniature toy camera frames instantly catch the eye and give off a trendy, nostalgic retro photo look.

Sweet Food Themes: Featuring a sheep enjoying lemonade, a cute pig with a giant ice cream cone, and a bear sipping a cool drink by the beach, it hits all the satisfying aesthetic notes!

Layered Texture: The neutral, grid-textured background panel lets the vibrant camera colours pop right off the page without feeling cluttered.

Stamp & Colour Your Elements: Stamp three mini toy camera outlines and your animal scenes (sheep with dessert, pig with ice cream, and beach-bound bear). Colour them using vibrant markers—bright pink, electric blue, and sunny yellow make the best pop!

Assemble the "Polaroids": Cut out the photo frames and slot your coloured animal scenes directly underneath so they look like fresh instant prints.

Prep the Background: Take a light kraft or beige grid cardstock mat and adhere it to a crisp white side-folding card base to create a clean, grounded border.

Arrange & Pop Up: Arrange your cameras at playful, offset angles across the card face. Use 3D foam tape behind the top camera and bottom camera to give the entire layout dimensional depth.

Pink birthday card

Hello there,
Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

I am happy to share another card and its a birthday cards, I made using Dahlia from Power Poppy. I came across this digi and immediately bought it and decided to make a card. The best thing about digis are the size of image can be changed accordingly. I printed out two dahlias on either corner of the and thought I will make a slimline card but I hardly had anytime to actually colour the image. I am like so exhausted these days and trying to bring back my energy to colour. I love colouring and I have so many brands of pencils to colour but I am tired. I hope to find my mojo back soon. I used shades of pink to colour the flower and used an old embossing folder for the card base and fuzzy cut the image. I added it to one corner of the card base, added a sentiment. Instead of embellishments, I added a strip of pink and silver cardstock.

Chirpy birthday

Hello there,
Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

One of my favourite images is this bird from Wplus 9. Its an old stamp set and I have coloured the same on white  cardstock with different colours but the end result was not the same as colouring on kraft cardstock. My latest obsession is colouring on kraft cardstock and I didnt use fancy colour combination. Just went with basic colours. I recently started using Memento tuxedo black ink and I am loving it. It doesnt bleed and I stamp the images at one go. I used Lyra colour pencils to colour the image and a sentiment. The card is very simple and focuses on the image.

Statement flower

Hello there,
Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

My latest obsession is colouring on kraft cardstock. I had to recently travel back home and I always carry stamped images and pencils to colour. I am not great with watercolours and markers. I am still learning my way with colour pencils and one step at a time. I had a ton of kraft cardstock lying around which I didn't use. Sometimes I get tired of colouring on white cardstock and they don't turn out well. I stamped a few images and took them along with me and when I had free time, I coloured them.

One of my favourite stamps is Statement flowers from Altenew. The large floral image gives a ton of scope for colouirng and experimenting with different combinations. I stuck with traditional colours like pink and yellow. I want to try other colours as well but sometime later. The card is very simple and its a one layer card with coloured image and a sentiment and nothing fancy.

Geometric party

Hello there,
Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

My first post for this month is using geometric butterfly stamp set from Mudra stamps - Geometric nature. I generally use white cardstock but this time I went along with kraft cardstock. I realised that colouring on kraft cardstock is absolute fun and colours are definitely bright and wild on them. I started out with one side of the wings making it colourful and the other side with shades of brown, just to give it a different look and I ended up loving it. I added the coloured piece to white notecard and stamped a sentiment. The card is simple and focuses of the coloured butterfly.

Kindness floral card

Hello there,
Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

Inspired by colours from The flower challenge, I made this card using Be kind stamp from Craftscrappers. The subtle and pastel shades worked well for this card. I used prisma to colour and the notecard also matches the colours inspired. Its a simple card with flowers and some black ink splatters and a sentiment.

Mermaid kindness

Hello there,
Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

Who doesn't like mermaids?? I love mermaid images and colouring them is always fun. There is no specific colour for their fins and its perfect for any colour. I am using image from The Paper shelter - Mermaid's melody. I used Freshly made sketches as a guide to make the card. I used a background stamp from MFT - wavy pattern and stamped on white cardstock. I inked the stamped pattern using shades of blue. (Zoom and see the pattern). I finished with a sentiment and some bubbles.

Lunar birthday

Hello there,
Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

I am here with a card using digital image from The Paper Shelter - Lunar dreamer. Its such a gorgeous image and I had to colour it and make a card. I used subtle colour for the dress and kept the card super simple. I wanted a dark and contrasting background that goes well the coloured image. I decided to go with black and since plain black was not complimenting I did embossing using embossing folder from Altenew. I fuzzy cut the image and added it to the card base and finished with sentiment and gemstones.

Summer fun

Hello there,
Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

I am super excited to share a layout I made for my darling niece using Infinite blooms, Sweet friend, Geo arch stencil, Curvy leaves die  and Ornate circle die. She is currently in vacation mode and this is an old picture of hers from last year when she was holiday. I love summer holidays. When I was in school I used to have 2 months of vacation and it was always fun. I used to attend summer camps and laze most of the time. I never used to get up before 9.30 in the morning and would just wait for my mom to cut mangoes for me. When I started college all of summer holidays I used to study study study.. I really miss doing nothing LOL...... I am happy my niece and nephew are enjoying their holidays and this is one for her..
