'Two worlds in one' card

Welcome to my blog and follow my work on social media.

I am so happy to join World Wide Open Design team challenge from this month. I have this image Two World from Julia Spiri for my card. This image reminds me of the love between a mermaid and the sailor pirate from Pirates of Caribbean movie part 4. I love mermaids and this image talks a lot. I kept the card very very simple. I wanted the focus to stay on the image so I added very less embellishments. 

I coloured the sea bed with brown and mixed it up with little green and then used dark blue colour and ombred it. For the sky, I used yellow along with a bit of orange towards the sea. Colouring the mermaid was absolute fun here. I used purple along with little yellow to the center of the fins and added some white dots. For the dots, I used white texture paste to bring in that effect. To finish the card, I added the sentiment and just two flowers.
