Coastal Charm for a Very Happy Birthday

Hello, craft friends! Today I'm thrilled to share a nautical-themed birthday card that brings together some truly adorable elements. This project, featuring delightful gnomes and sea creatures, is sure to make any recipient smile.

The card itself is a work of art, featuring a beautifully colored scene on a card front that is matted to a crisp white card base. I've designed a layered seascape, complete with tiny islands, a winding river of blue water, and rocky outcrops. The main scene is dominated by a cheerful green-hatted gnome, ready to celebrate.

To set the scene, I added a classic red-and-white lighthouse standing tall against a rising (or setting) sun. For some playful character, I've included two cheeky seagulls perched on different islands. The background of the scene has a soft, textured finish with subtle horizontal lines. The sentiment, a classic "Happy Birthday," is stamped neatly in a simple black font across the upper sky, keeping the focus on the delightful illustration.

The coloring of this card was a true joy. I used Copic markers to bring the scene to life, layering colors for the water and rendering the gnome in vibrant shades. The light coloring and clean lines give the entire project a cheerful and friendly look. This card feels like a miniature watercolor painting, with soft blended colors and precise ink work. It’s perfect for anyone who loves the beach, lighthouses, and a touch of whimsical charm.

If you enjoy creating cards with a whimsical, story-driven feel, give a similar scene a try! It's a fantastic way to practice stamp positioning and coloring skills.
