Colouring using inks on different texture bases

Hello everyone

Welcome back....

My post for today is all about Tubby Craft inks. Tubby craft inks are water based dye inks and can be used for stamping, stenciling, water colouring and inking backgrounds. I always wanted to try using inks on other textured bases as well and fortunately today my post is all all about inking on different textures. Since they are water based, inking turned out to be very easy and fun to make.

I am using 3 bases here, the first one is paper clay mould, the second one is burlap/jute and the last one is felt. Adding water to the inks make them move and blend freely.

Materials used:
1. Stamps
    a. Adorable runner
    b. Darling four
2. Inks
    a. Jet black
    b. Turquoise
    c. Lemon yellow
    d. Magenta
    e. Imperial red
    f. Liliac purple
    g. Lavender violet
    h. Emerald green
    i. Mustard yellow
    j. Tangy Orange
3. White card stock
4. Gem stones
5. Acrylic block
6. Brush
7. Colour pencils

Lets start......

Inking on paper clay mould

Inks used colouring: Turquoise, Emerald green, Lemon yellow

1. I made a peacock using mould and paper clay. I let the clay dry completely for a day before I started adding colours.
2. Once the mould is dry, I started adding colours by watercolouring.
3. I dabbed some ink onto my work surface and sparyed some water. Using a brush, I started adding colours and these inks work perfectly for blending colours.
4. Once the colours are dry (only air dry not to use heat tool), I added it to a card base.
5. To finish the card,I added the sentiment and some gem stone.

Inking on burlap/jute

Inks used colouring: Lemon yellow, Tangy orange, Imperial Red

1. I took a white jute (heavy base jute) and trimmed it down.
2. I started dabbing the inks directly onto the jute base.
3. Before the inks dried out, I immediately sprayed water and used my brush to blend the colours out.
4. The jute stated to curl up when drying because of the water, hence I placed a heavy object on top of it.
5. I used strong adhesive to add the jute/burlap to my card base.
6. I stamped two images and coloured them with pencils.
7. I kept the rest of the card simple and added the image to burlap base and finished by adding sentiment and gem stones.

Inking on felt

Inks used colouring: Liliac violet, Lavender violet, magenta

1. Here too, I used white felt and trimmed it down...
2. I did not dab the ink directly to the felt but used my work surface to do watercolouring.
3. Blending the colours on felt was very easy than I expected. But it does take a while to dry completely.
4. Felt must be adhered to the card base only when its completely dry to stick well.
5. I used a pattern paper for the base and then added a black card stock and felt on top of it.
6. I added a cake image and sentiment along with gem stones to finish the card.

I hope you all liked my post and do give it try and have fun. If you did remember to follow my blog and other social media accounts too.

Today's card is a mixed media card which is made as an inspiration post for Le Anns World 101 challenge blog

To make this card, I used Aqua girl and chiplets to make the card. The chiplets I used are from Mudra and they have a so many chiplets and this one is my favourite. These chiplets work perfectly for a underwater or ocean theme cards.

I used some inks and distress sprays to create a mixed media look and kept the rest of the card simple.

I have a mixed media card here today along with a video tutorial. To make this card, I used a digital image from Scrapper's delight Honey Anime. I used pattern paper and for adding colour on the paper I used some ink pad and sprayed water. Before adding the ink, I applied coat of clear gesso so the water does not warp the paper.

I made the cake look like its floating from the number by adding a twine.
